A week before the 2024 Formula 1 pre-season testing started, Aston Martin Aramco and Girard-Perregaux announced the renewal of their partnership. According to both companies, the partnership has yielded "results on the track, on the road, and in the field". While that might sound a lot like typical 'PR speak', we've had the privilege of witnessing the six watches (one with two size variants) that have emerged from this collaboration, and we are very impressed. While we look forward to seeing more F1 inspired green timepieces, here's a look back at the watches the partnership has produced so far.
Reimagining "the bridge," the $37,000 Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition is the latest product from the duo. Inspired by the DB12, dubbed the "world's first Super Tourer" by Aston Martin, it showcases Girard Perregaux's open-worked bridge mechanism for all to see. Limited to 250 pieces, its black and green combination pays homage to Aston Martin's core palette, while the use of a black DLC-finished titanium case aids in both finesse and weight savings. A rubber strap with a titanium DLC triple folding buckle is attached to the case. The watch is powered by the caliber GP08400-2164.

Starting at $25,000, the Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition features a slender green ceramic case and bracelet, the first of its kind in GP's history. Touted to be up to seven times harder than steel, the ceramic material ensures that the watch retains its showroom-fresh appearance for a long time and never "fades or ages". The dial's cross-hatch design, resembling AM's quilted seats, pays homage to the watch's racing roots. Visible through a transparent case back, the watches are powered by the tried and tested caliber GP03300.

This timepiece has a design similar to the the Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition, sporting an identical case and bracelet albeit in grey, the same caliber, and a similar dial design. The presence of three chronograph sub-dials is the main visual difference. Priced at $21,400 upon release, the watch is currently sold out on the company's website.
Limited to just 306 pieces, the Laureato Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition is heavily inspired by the Aston Martin Aramco F1 racing team. So much so that the number 306 is a reference to the distance AM F1 drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll aimed to complete during the 2022 British Grand Prix held at the Silverstone Circuit.
The case itself, in a first for the industry, is made from a composition of titanium powder and carbon elements taken from the team's racing cars that took part in the 2021 season. Just like the Laureato above, the watch's dials also feature cross-hatching traced back as far as 1921 from the 'AM badge' common on Aston Martin's racing cars. The watch is powered by the caliber GP03300 and has a starting price of $27,800.

Perhaps the most striking piece on the list, the $160,000 Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges Aston Martin Edition is by a country mile the most expensive item on this list. Like other watches in GP's Bridges Collection, the watch celebrates the iconic Three Bridges pocket watch from the 19th century with a sapphire crystal front and back design that exposes the watch's interior components. The case is made from grade 5 titanium, offering a lightweight but incredibly strong structure, and is attached to a black calf leather strap. The watch is powered by Girard Perregaux's caliber GP09400.

The world isn't short of collaborations between watch manufacturers and racing teams, but few of those offer the simplicity, class, and well-thought-out execution that the Girard Perregaux-Aston Martin combo produces. With the announcement of the renewal of their partnership, It's hard not to salivate in anticipation.
