Audi has announced the R8 V10 RWD, (an update to the rear-wheel-drive R8 V10 RWS, which was first produced as a limited series in 2018) will go into series production. In addition, the carmaker will be releasing the R8 LMS GTS racing car with an upgraded look.

About the R8 V10 RWD

The car will be offered as a Spyder and Coupe. It features a flatter and broader “Singleframe” grille. The slits, which are right below the hood, are reminiscent of the iconic Audi Sport Quattro. Its front splitter, air inlets, and the rear air outlet grille have all been broadened. The car also features a diffuser that has been move upward. Oval tailpipes flank it on each side. The side blades on the vehicle make its special status obvious. The top blade comes in a glossy mythos black, and the bottom blade comes in the car’s color.

The Engine Specs

This vehicle is fitted with a naturally aspirated V10 engine. The engine features lightning-fast responses, immense torque as well as a unique sound profile. This 5.2 FSI is capable of producing 397 kW and maximum torque of 398.3 lb/ft at 6,500 RPM. To transfer this impressive performance to the rear wheels, the car utilizes a seven-speed S Tronic transmission that is combined with a mechanical lock differential. The Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 62.1mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 198.8 mph while the Spyder is capable of jumping from 0 to 62.1 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 197.6 mph.

Great Vehicle Dynamics

When sport mode is activated in the R8 V10 RWD, the Electronic Stabilization Control is also activated with the control system and suspension setup making controlled drifting possible. The R8 V10 RWD is fitted with 19-inch aluminum forged wheels with 295/35 rear tires and 245/35 front tires. Optional 20-inch wheels and sports tires are also available. These wheels and tires ensure better grip, deceleration under high loads, and improved dynamics.

About the Audi R8 LMS GT4 Race Car

This GT4 racecar is derived from the series production model, with about 60 percent of the parts coming from the R8 V10 RWD. The previous version of the Audi LMS GT4 has won 17 titles globally in racing since 2018, and this latest version is a refined model of the awesome car.

Engine Specs

The GT4 car is fitted with a 5.2-liter V10 engine that can produce 495hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It features two unique innovations that make it easier for drivers to garner points. The car features TC traction control and ABS braking systems that allow for precise adjustments. This allows for eight different settings to adjust to the weather and track conditions.

This GT4 racecar car also features the steering wheel found in the GT2 racing version. The ABS and TC rotary switches are located on the steering wheel, making it easier for drivers to respond to new challenges as they arise.

GT Racing doesn’t get the attention open-wheel racing does, but with cars like this being made available, racing enthusiasts may not even notice. The R8 has been a crowd favorite for some time. This new pair will likely maintain the status quo on the road and the track.
