Just in time for its scheduled "summer 2020" unveiling, the much-awaited Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is finally here. The car is a track-only hypercar that ships with Lamborghini’s most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine ever.
Based on some of Lamborghini’s most iconic models like the Miura Jota and the much loved Lamborghini Diablo GTR, the Essenza is built by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile.
The Essenza comes fitted with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces a massive 830 hp, making it the company’s most powerful engine ever. Paired with the V12 engine is an all-new X-trac sequential six-speed gearbox that channels the car’s power through the rear wheels.

0-100km/hr time is not stated though, so we’ll have to wait to find out how the Essenza performs in that regard. Also not revealed is the car’s weight, but Lamborghini states the car’s power to weight ratio as 1.66 hp per Kg. We’ll let you do the math.
The Essenza is designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile Course, a department within the company that has designed all of the company’s recent race cars.

Both the car’s body and monocoque are made from lightweight carbon fiber materials, a move that not only helps in weight reduction but also helps in improving the car’s safety.
In a bid to improve aerodynamics, the team added dual air-intakes on the hood, a roof-mounted air scoop, a wide front splitter, and winglets that send air to the side intakes.

All this tweaking and tinkering results in downward force of 1200 kg at 250 km/hr which makes the Essenza have more downforce than GT3 race cars.
The car’s body features a hexagon theme with a number of hexagon-shaped components including; the front headlights, the roof-mounted air scoop, and the air vents on the steering wheel’s frame. Also prominent in the car’s design is a “Y” theme that features repeatedly in the car’s livery and cockpit designs.
On the inside, most of the components are made from either Alcantara or carbon fiber. Some of the outstanding features include; a multifunction F1 inspired steering wheel with an incorporated display and manual switches, FIA certified OMP carbon fiber racing seats and red accents present on the door handles and some other components.

Only 40 examples of the Essenza SCV12 will be built with each customer becoming part of an exclusive club that will give them a chance to drive their hypercar on some of the most revered circuits in the world, special storage in a newly built hangar in Sant’Agata Bolognese, a personalized garage and a number of other dedicated resources. Sounds like my kind of car. Has anyone seen my check book?
