Not to be outdone by McLaren with its introduction of the W1/ target="_black">W1, Ferrari has announced the arrival of the successor to the LaFerrari, the F80. The Laferrari is a tough act to follow, and the good folks in Maranello did their best to raise the bar.
The new hypercar builds on Ferrari's rich history of innovation and excellence while pushing the boundaries of speed, power, and cutting-edge technology. The F80 encapsulates Ferrari's commitment to creating vehicles that combine breathtaking performance with a sustainable future.
The design of the Ferrari F80 is inspired by Formula 1 cars and includes futuristic aesthetics. It has sharp lines and an aggressive, streamlined silhouette that exudes speed even when standing still. It looks like a cross between the DaytonaSP3/ target="_black">Daytona and the 296GTB/ target="_black">296, taking certain design elements from both cars.

The F80's body is constructed primarily of carbon fiber, keeping the weight down and improving performance. Every curve and contour serves a purpose, with the car's exterior designed to improve airflow.
The car's front end is characterized by its sleek headlights, which seamlessly blend into the body, giving it a menacing yet sophisticated look. The car's rear features a large diffuser and a bold exhaust that will likely offer signature melodious sounds.

Inside, the car's driver focus is evident as the passenger seat appears to be an afterthought. Also present is a new steering wheel made specifically for the F80. Beyond that, there's nothing remarkable about the cockpit, as it has an understated look.
Under the hood, the Ferrari F80 represents a shift towards sustainability without sacrificing the brand's legendary performance. Unlike Ferrari's traditional V8 or V12 engines, the F80 is powered by a 3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with 3 electric motors.

The V6 borrows heavily from the powertrain found in 24 hrs of LeMans winner, the 499P. The combustion engine delivers 900hp and combines with the electric motors for a total of 1,200 hp. This gives the car the enviable accolade of being the most powerful road car ever developed by Ferrari. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds.
The 120-degree V6 engine is a deliberate choice by Ferrari to embrace new technology while maintaining the brand's performance credentials. The combination of the turbocharged V6 and the electric motor allows the F80 to deliver the same thrill as previous Ferrari hypercars but with a more eco-friendly approach.
The Ferrari F80 is designed to be a performance machine capable of reaching top speeds of over 217 mph. The car's active aerodynamics system adjusts in real-time to ensure optimal performance at different speeds, providing the perfect balance of downforce and drag reduction.

The F80's active suspension system is designed to offer superior handling and stability, even at high speeds. The car features advanced traction control and a torque-vectoring system that helps distribute power between the wheels, making it easier to handle tight corners and challenging road conditions.
The car showcases Ferrari's ability to stay ahead of the curve, embracing new technologies while staying true to the brand's core values of luxury, performance, and craftsmanship. Only 799 examples will be made. If you're considering picking one up, pricing starts at €3.6 million.
