Mercedes is once again pushing the boundaries of automotive performance with the unveiling of their latest flagship of the AMG GT Coupe portfolio at the sidelines of the Formula 1 weekend in Shanghai.
Equipped with motorsport-inspired technology, the car comes out of the gates with a remarkable handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine at the front and an electric motor on the rear axle. Together, the two will deliver lightning-fast response and consistent power delivery thanks to technology akin to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's hybrid race cars.
At the heart of the stunning new AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is a groundbreaking E PERFORMANCE hybrid drive that boasts a combined output of 805 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft of torque. Capable of propelling the coupe from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, it's the quickest accelerating AMG series production model available to date.

This innovative new hybrid system doesn't just deliver incredible performance. It also enhances the driving dynamics with additional features like active roll stabilization, fully variable all-wheel drive, active rear-axle steering, and a carbon ceramic high-performance brake system. These features are all standard, offering incredible agility, stability, precision, and performance.
While the exterior design doesn't deviate much from other current models in the GT Coupe portfolio, the car does have a few unique elements, like the integrated charging port for the hybrid system and twin trapezoidal tailpipes.

The AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE incorporates cutting-edge components developed at the Affalterbach AMG facility. These include the 400-volt AMG High-Performance Battery with a capacity of 6.1 kWh, a lithium-ion energy storage system with a direct cooling system inspired and proven by Formula 1 cars. This aims to optimize power delivery and efficiency to facilitate consistent performance at all times, even under demanding driving conditions.
The AMG Dynamic Select drive programs offer a customizable driving experience with eight distinct driving modes. From silent cruising on the 'Electric' setting to the adrenaline-pumping speed of 'RACE' mode, each is designed to offer a unique driving experience. The configuration is accessible via the AMG DRIVE UNIT steering wheel buttons or the central multimedia display.

The AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE also showcases some exclusive E PERFORMANCE elements, such as distinctive 'GT 63 S' badging, and aerodynamically optimized 20-inch AMG Tantalum gray alloy wheels.
The interior offers a driver-focused cockpit design that creates a premium driving environment built for comfort. There's a generous amount of space with the 2+2 seating arrangement and power-adjustable AMG sports seats are included as standard.
