Ferretti 780 - The yacht to beat?

Launched in 2017, the Ferretti 780 has for the past few years earned itself rave reviews from customers and industry experts alike, cementing its place as the must-have yacht in its category.
With the release of more modern boats, like the 1000 and 500, Ferretti Yachts decided that the popular 780 deserved a redesign. They’ve added lots of new features intending to further enhance its reputation as the ultimate 24-meter flybridge. Like with many of the company’s yachts, the 780 is the result of a collaboration between the company’s Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department.
The 780 now boasts a sleeker and more streamlined profile that incorporates a sportier look, thanks to the larger glazed surfaces in the hull. With a new “Just like home” theme, the interior also received some major updates and can now be had in two configurations; classic or contemporary.

You’re welcomed to the boat by a spacious aft area. Upon request, Ferretti will fit a garage that can hold a 4.35-meter tender. The garage doors conceal a pair of large sun pads, while a couple of storage compartments in the hull-sides provide additional storage space.
From the aft platform, hull-side stairs ascend to the boat’s rather small cockpit, complete with a compact dining setup. Thankfully, the exterior forward/bow area is more spacious, with a U-shaped sofa and a large central sun pad. Of course, the boat's spacious flybridge is the headline-grabber, and yes, it’s excellent. It comes with large sun loungers and poufs, while in the middle, a large dining area sits on the left, opposite a fully equipped bar unit on the right.

The boat's secondary helm station is located in the forward-right area and comes furnished with a pair of seats and monitors. As an option, the boat’s roomy flybridge can mount a black hardtop with either fixed glass inserts or a system of panels that open.
As earlier mentioned, the redesigned Ferretti Yachts 780 comes in two interior “moods”: classic or contemporary. The classic decor comes with warmer and more traditional hues, while the contemporary option boasts a cooler color palette. Separated from the cockpit by huge glass doors, the 780’s lounge is a thing of beauty with large glazed surfaces, modern free-standing furniture, and loads of neat touches.

Emphasizing the “Just like Home” theme, the lounge setup feels as spacious and comfortable as anything you’ll find in this segment. A large L-shaped sofa with a Divnai coffee table faces a 65-inch flatscreen TV on the port side. A wide dining table for eight and a fully equipped galley sit in the center of the lounge while the boat’s primary two-seater helm station is on the forward starboard side.
There’s a total of three lounge configurations to choose from, giving buyers a robust list of finishes and setups that they can opt for. Other new features include; mirrored steel surfaces, electric window blinds, and a hidden sound system.
Descending to the lower deck, the 780 comes with a total of four guest cabins, each with a bathroom. Amidship, the boat’s master suite comes with a large bed, wardrobe, a pleasing little sofa next to the window, a large flatscreen TV, and of course, a luxurious ensuite.

Like the lounge, all the 780’s cabins come with luxurious finishes. That means walnut wood and stainless steel surfaces, fabric cladding on the walls and ceilings, and design objects by Poltrona Frau.
A pair of 1400mhp MAN engines come as the standard option. These give the boat a top speed of 28knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots. Power-hungry buyers can opt for a pair of 1,550mhp MAN engines that give the 780 a top speed of 31 knots and cruising speed of 24knots. The LOOP system from Naviop-Simrad controls the propulsion, navigation, and monitoring functions while an electro-hydraulic-steer system ensures greater comfort and steering precision.
