Pershing 5X - Welcome to Generation X

The first of the “X” generation, the Pershing 5X is by far the smallest yacht in the Pershing stable, but that in no way makes it any lesser of a boat. Unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2016, the yacht has carved out a following for itself with first-time buyers, and it’s not hard to understand why.
Measuring 16.51 meters in length and with a 4.38-meter beam, the 5X offers bespoke luxury and top-notch performance at a fraction of the price of its elder siblings. According to the company, the “X” stands for “extreme performance and technological evolution,” two things, in our opinion, that best define the 5X.
As with most of the boats from Pershing, renowned yacht designer, Fulvio De Simoni is responsible for the 5X after working in close collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department and Product Strategy Committee.

While the Pershing 5X is built to offer both luxury and comfort, performance is clearly one of the strengths of this boat. You can see this for yourself when admiring the boat’s sporty and aggressive styling.
Distinct styling features like the down-angled side wings, large raked windows, and the forward-leaning hull windows on each bulwark give the impression of a boat in motion or, as the company puts it, “a fighter jet on water.”

The 5X’s main deck provides spacious room for a boat of this size. The cockpit area makes room for a large sundeck, a headrest, a sofa, and a wet bar for ultimate exterior relaxation. Owners can separate this from the main deck lounge by a huge glass door with a “special opening and closing system.”
The lounge area is furnished with gray-tone fabrics and flooring along with similarly styled oak fittings. The glass roof and the large windows ensure that more than enough natural light makes it to the inside while also giving the occupants a panoramic view of the sea.

LED lighting installed in the ceiling further adds to the already incredible ambiance of the lounge area while a large C-shaped sofa, a center table, and storage cabinets fill up most of the dwelling space. The boat’s helm station is neatly fitted in the right-hand corner of the salon.
The 5X’s lower deck houses the master suite, the VIP cabin, a mini kitchen, and an additional mini-lounge/dining area furnished with a sofa, a center table, and a flat-screen TV. Optionally, owners may swap out this area for a third cabin with bunk beds or a crew cabin.

As you might expect, the main suite comes furnished with all sorts of luxuries and modern décor. These include Bedspreads and cushions by Zimmer + Rhode, a neat ensuite bathroom, custom-designed furniture, and a seating area for two alongside the windows.
Buyers of the Pershing 5X can choose between two power options. The first has two VOLVO IPS950 D11 engines producing 725hp apiece, with a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 36 knots.

Alternatively, owners can choose the more powerful option; two CAT 12.9 engines producing 1000hp each. These 2000 horses power the boat to a cruising speed of 41 knots and a top speed of 45 knots. Additionally, owners can configure their Pershing 5X with the EASY DOCK system allowing them to operate the docking system with a joystick.
While the Pershing 5X is the smallest from the brand, it’s a more than good enough option for someone new to yachting and offers considerable luxury and performance.
